Revera’s origins go back to 2002, when local managers of Hitachi Data Systems bought a controlling 51% stake of the business from the Japanese owners. The company was renamed Hosting and Datacentre Services (HdS). At that time, the company took to market a computing infrastructure provisioning and services model, which is now its business mainstay.

In September 2005, the management buyout was completed and the business was renamed Revera.
