Benefits

Turn capital investment into operating cost

Data centres are expensive and tough to manage. Leave it to the experts. Leasing a discrete slice of data centre capacity is cheaper in the long run.

Keep your assets and data safe

Revera Homeland data centres meet government standards for safety, risk management, and sustainability.

Target efficiencies

Think more than simply cost savings. The right cloud computing model makes businesses more agile and lowers risks.

Make costs predictable

Cloud services make IT costs predictable, visible, and easier to control.

Case study

KiwiRail

When KiwiRail decided to exit its Wellington CBD data centre, they chose Revera.

Location was a big consideration – KiwiRail wanted to be safe from wash zones. Also on the list was technology modernisation. A smart data centre offered new ways to consolidate systems and automate their upkeep.

KiwiRail migrated its production systems – including SAP, Oracle, and IBM applications, and SQL and DB2 databases – to Revera’s ART data centre in Trentham, Wellington.

Beyond simple colocation, KiwiRail adopted a managed backup service, which slashed backup windows, despite the daily addition of five terabytes to KiwiRail’s 100-plus TB production systems data.

Bottom line

A data centre offers much more than simply more capacity inside a safer building.

When IT is relocated to an intelligent data centre network, consolidation and shared services save money and simplify management.
